Sunset at Beacon’s Beach

For one of the most iconic views in North County, head to Beacon’s Beach about 30 minutes before sunset. The switchback trail down to the sand offers incredible photo ops, and it's generally a bit quieter than Moonlight Beach for a peaceful end to your weekend.

Weekend Zen: SRF Meditation Gardens

If you need a moment of peace, the Self Realization Fellowship Meditation Gardens are open Tuesday–Saturday until 5:00 PM and Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. It’s a beautiful, free spot to enjoy koi ponds and ocean views.

Encinitas was one of the first cities in California to formally recognize and zone areas for surfing back in the early 2000s — helping protect breaks like Swami’s and Beacon’s as part of the city’s coastal identity, not just recreation.
